The Historic Theatre Lane
In the 19th century Central District, more than a dozen alley-like side streets existed in between Queen's Road Central and Des Voeux Road Central, including Chiu Lung Street, Li Yuen Street West, and Wing Sing Street, also known as "Egg Street". Theatre Lane though existed as the widest and most prominent one of these side streets. Theatre Lane's name originated from the adjacent historical Queen's Theatre, which formerly occupied the site of 31 Queen's Road Central.
